Ultherapy® has been acclaimed as the Gold Standard for non-invasive skin lifting and tightening by a panel of global experts.1 Also, it is the only FDA-cleared device that uses micro-focused ultrasound imaging and visualisation to target the deep structural layers of the skin without disrupting the skin’s surface.1–4 This allows you to get the best possible results for patients and they have minimal downtime.1,5
Ultherapy® is suitable for all skin tones.6,7 An Ultherapy® candidate is not determined by age, but rather by skin quality. A good candidate for Ultherapy® has mild to moderate skin laxity where the skin begins to feel and look less firm. We are finding that younger patients are turning to Ultherapy® as they understand the importance of maintaining their collagen banks and use Ultherapy® as a preventative measure to the visible effects of ageing.
You may see some initial lift in patients, but visible results will take about 3 months after treatment, as new collagen and elastin forms.2,8–10 The effects of a single Ultherapy® treatment can last for over a year in some people.1,5,8 However, Ultherapy® is an individualised treatment, so it is advised to assess the degree of skin laxity prior to treatment to manage patient expectations of outcomes likely for them. Assuredly, Ultherapy® is associated with high patient satisfaction.1,10,11
Ultherapy® is associated with one of the highest return on investment out of all the non-invasive facial aesthetic treatments.12 Please get in contact with your local Merz Account Manager for more information.
The length of a treatment will depend on the area being treated and the patient’s customised treatment plan. A face and neck procedure takes 60—90 minutes, while a chest or brow treatment takes approximately 30 minutes.13
After an Ultherapy® treatment patients can usually resume their normal lifestyle and activities immediately without having to follow any special post treatment measures.5
While all aesthetic treatments can be associated with some side effects, any redness post treatment should disappear within a few hours. Some patients experience slight swelling, tingling or tenderness to touch, but these are typically temporary in nature and should subside within a few hours or days.2
There may be some momentary discomfort, which varies from person to person, but the sensation usually only lasts while the energy is being delivered.2 Ultherapy® trainers will teach methods that practitioners can use to manage and minimise any patient discomfort.
In order for Ultherapy® to work it has to heat deep layers of the skin. Everybody will have different sensitivities to this heat but practitioners will be taught in advance methods to manage and minimise any patient discomfort.
